It is a dangerous time
To proclaim true love.
It is now a federal crime
To pray to God above.
Every individual thought,
Quickly labeled as treason.
Only ideas can be bought,
During a regulated season.
Radio is down to one station.
That only plays commercials.
TV is on permanent vacation.
It was deemed too controversial.
There are no more free thinkers,
No more poets and dreamers.
Become a society of drinkers,
Of followers and schemers.
When did we become sheep?
When did we stop dreaming?
Imagination is forever asleep.
Creativity even is now leaving.
Look past what's being shown.
Open up your hearts and eyes.
Plant an idea, and let it grow.
Feed it with a wild curiosity.
Turn off the screens and think.
Explore the world once more.
Capture your feelings with ink.
And dream like we did before.
It is now the perfect time,
To proclaim what you love.
To open once closed minds,
Free will is a gift from above.
